Lissa Chaloff is the librarian at Hayt School. Ms. Chaloff recently earned her Library Media Specialist
State Certification and passed the Illinois Licensure examination. Prior to becoming librarian at Hayt,
Ms. Chaloff taught fourth grade in the Chicago Public School system. As a strong advocate for the Arts, she has acted as liaison between cooperating arts organizations and her school. Ms. Chaloff has worked as a mentor teacher, a supervising teacher, and played a role on the pilot committee for Chicago Arts Partnership in Education (CAPE).
Ms. Chaloff has written and earned numerous grants, including an award from the prestigious National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Additionally, Ms. Chaloff received a matching grant for the Hayt School Library in 2011. As librarian, Ms. Chaloff cites two top priorities at Hayt: maintaining student interest as well as updating and enriching the library’s collection.
A busy mother of two, in her spare time Ms. Chaloff enjoys reading, word puzzles, modern dance, hiking and swimming.
