Welcome to Stephen K. Hayt School’s new website! Hayt School is a Chicago Public School that serves over 1000 students from Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, grades pre-k through 8th. Many of our students are from other countries, making Hayt very diverse and culturally rich. Over 30 languages are spoken by our students. Our students are learning German as a World Language; Hayt is the only Chicago Public School that teaches German! Learning German as a foreign language is a great asset to have for future employment opportunities given Germany’s strong economic position in Europe and the world! Please explore more of our website to learn about our students, families, teachers and staff; and our academic and social programs and activities for our students. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
