Running Club
Grades 5th- 8th

Outdoor Running Club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. Orgranized by Mrs. Guerrero
Act Out
Grades 6th-8th
October 19th- June 2022
Monday- Thursday 3:30-4:30
Civil arts/Theatre program. Student identify issues within their community and possible solutions, and then bring their script to life through actign and dancing. Organized by Mr. Rasheed.
Brothers to Hermanos
6th-8th Grade Students
Dates: October 8th- June 2022 Fridays 3:30-4:30
A teacher mentoring program in which male teachers help young men
(middle school students) with issues such as health, community service, academics, etc… Ideally planting seeds to help them become positive citizens in society.
Science Club
3rd-5th Grade Students
Dates: October 28th- December 16th
Thursdays 3:30-4:30
Science Club provides science enrichment activities
through a partnership with the Museum of Science
and Industry. We will have an 8 week session
during the first semester, and another 8 week
session during the spring semester. Mr. Brogan and
Mr. Moy are the co-sponsors of Science Club.
Trailblazers
Grades 7th & 8th
Dates: October 15, 2021 – May/June 2022
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-4:30
This program is an opportunity for middle school
girls to meet and talk with other girls and female
mentors (teachers and possibly former Traiblazers).
The program will target middle school girl
challenges, social justice, leadership opportunities,
and giving back to the community, among other
things. Organized by Ms. Graham
Roots and Shoots/ Chess Club
Grades 3rd-5th
Dates: October 5th- May 5th on Tuesdays and Thursdays
3:30-4:30
Weather permitting the club will go outside to the
Hayt School garden to clean and maintain the
garden and discuss environmental issues. On
inclement weather days, chess will be taught and
played. Organized by Mr. Torres
Learning Through Fairy Tales
Grades 3rd-5th
Dates: October 18th- December 15th
Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-4:30
“Learning Through Fairy Tales”. A fun way for
students to gain a deep and satisfying
understanding of English, plus opportunities
provided to seek out patterns within a story and look
for similarities and differences, as well as bringing
positive language learning into the classroom.
